About York Housing Authority (YHA)

The York Housing Authority (YHA) was founded in 1949 and has assisted over 10,000 families since then. In 1978, an agreement was made between York Housing Authority and the County of York to provide affordable housing throughout the County.

The York Housing Authority (YHA) owns and operates 1,069 public housing units in addition to administering 1,452 Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8 Rental Assistance). Management services are also provided to York Towne House, Village Court and Waverly Court Apartments.

The York Housing Authority (YHA) mission is to provide safe, decent, affordable housing opportunities for people who are eligible, in a manner that encourages self-sufficiency.
